It’s been well over a year since covid first made its way into America, radically changing all of our lives. While it sucked to not be able to go anywhere, it gave me a lot of time to binge watch some TV shows. My social life is still pretty non existent, so for my fellow social hermits, I’ve decided to take this time to rank the shows that I binged since covid hit (March 2020). Just to clarify, this list consists of shows that I either started during covid, or shows that had a new season come out during covid.
- Hajime no Ippo (9/10) – Fell in love with this show. The second Sendo vs Ippo fight is just….electrifying
- The boys (season 2) (9/10) – One of the best superhero shows ever. Strong second season
- Hunter x Hunter (9/10) – Great show, some pacing issues in the chimera arc.
- Mandalorian (season 2) (9/10) – Loved the first season, loved this season even more.
- Doom Patrol (season 2) (9/10) – Most underrated superhero show. Loved this season, wish they had a chance to film the finale.
- FullMetal Alchemist Brotherhood (8.5/10) – Very good show, interesting philosophical aspects with a ton of likable characters.
- Normal People (8.5/10) – Very good, I enjoyed the book a little more but I just love how they told this story. Very thorough.
- Attack on Titan (8.5/10) – Hurt by pacing, but very good.
- Batman Beyond (8.5/10) – Extremely underrated. I hope we get a live action version some day
- Death Note (8/10) – Very good, not a lot negative to say. Feel like it fell off near the end though.
- Demon Slayer (8/10) – Best animation I’ve seen in an anime.
- Cobra Kai (8/10) – The school fight scene was just….too much. I wish it was more focused on tournaments. That being said, it blends the modern era and 80’s nostalgia expertly. There are complex characters with good character development.
- Snowfall (8/10) – Did not live up to the hype honestly. Still good though
- Barry (8/10) – Kindaaaa copies Dexter but the whole “serial killer wanting to become an actor” thing is pretty interesting and it has some funny moments. Enjoyable
- Euphoria (8/10) – Good show, kind of feels like it relies on style over substance at times. Entertaining though.
- Love Life (8/10) – Very light and cute, gotta love Anna Kendrick.
- Insecure (8/10) – I feel like I’d like this show more if everyone wasn’t so flawed. I don’t even know who I’d say my favorite character is.
- Dave (8/10) – Pleasantly surprised
- New girl (8/10) – Overrated but enjoyable
- Harley Quinn animated show (8/10) – This show is what the Birds of Prey movie should’ve been
- Wandavision (8/10) – Very solid, I had low expectations going in. I appreciate the unique vision (no pun intended) the show had.
- Falcon and the Winter Soldier (7.5/10) – Felt forced at times, but I liked the dynamic between Falcon and Bucky.
- Watchmen (7.5/10) – Expected more
- Last Chance U (season 5) (7.5/10) – Second best season of the show.
- Star girl (7.5/10) – Pleasantly surprised, but expecting a drop off
- Agents of shield (season 7) (7.5/10) – I really don’t remember a lot about this season. I don’t have strong feelings, very inoffensive.
- Umbrella Academy (season 2) (7/10) – Disappointing season, not as good as the first.
- Grownish (season 3) (6/10) – Ehhhh
- Tiger King (5.5/10) – Trash TV, but entertaining
